Use DejaVu Sans for non-Latin scripts.
Set to match the original width. Drag if the line looks tight or loose.
Baseline to baseline, in points. Taken from the paragraph itself.
What happens when your wording is longer than the words it replaces.

Click a page to place. Use Select to move, drag a corner to resize, Del to remove, and the arrow keys to nudge half a point at a time (hold Shift for five). Double-click any text to retype it.

Edit text highlights the wording already in the document. Click a highlighted line to retype it, click your own edit to come back to it, or empty it to delete it. The line keeps the size, spacing, colour and baseline it had, so a replacement of about the same length lands on the same letters. It is rewritten in the closest matching font, so an unusual typeface will look similar rather than identical. Scanned pages have no text to edit.

Edit paragraph takes a whole block at once, and the text re-wraps as you type: write more and it flows onto new lines, write less and it pulls back up. Use it for rewriting; use Edit text for a quick fix to one line. The paragraph keeps its own line spacing and letter spacing, and a red dashed line warns when it has grown into whatever sits below it.

PDF editor online

Edit a PDF right in your browser

The PDF editor lets you add anything you like on top of your pages. Type a note, drop in a picture, draw a shape, sketch with a pen, or cover something up with a plain box. Click where you want it, move it around, resize it, and save when the page looks right.

There is no software to buy and nothing to learn. It works the way you expect an editor to work, with a toolbar down the side and your document in the middle. Everything you place stays exactly where you put it in the finished file.
